Our first holiday together

November 21, 2017

We're all really busy prepping for Thanksgiving, family, friends and in my house a very special birthday. So for cranberries, pies, dressing and rolls are done and ready to go in the oven. This year, I'm making two smaller birds but both in a brine as usual and butter basted. Some guests have dietary restrictions, gluten free and egg free. It hasn't been too hard to come upon both restrictions but, lets see how they compare in few days.  Here's my super easy Cranberry Recipe, I make it the same every year. 1 16 oz package fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup maple syrup, the zest and juice of one orange, dash of salt and cloves. Place all ingredients in a small pot and simmer until a thick bubbly compote. Cool, place in a serving dish with a lid and keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.  Some cranberries are sweeter than others, you can add more maple syrup of needed. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is the day! I'm open online and I'm so excited.  To commemorate, I'm holding a Sisterhood Celebration along with my good friend and colleague Suzie Dickens. She's the one who pushes me to be my best and just keep trying and sharing.
